What you need to remember to stay on track in the sports recruitment process

Student athlete reminders

Apply early

Depending on the sport, your junior year may even be too late to start the recruitment process. Get a schedule going now to prevent scrambling later.

Actively communicate with coaches

Let them know you are interested by contacting coaches at the schools you’re interested in through email or by visiting the school.

Visit campuses

While you’re there, be sure to ask questions to the coaches and other students as well as observing the teams in action.

Stay on top of deadlines

Just like you need to be competitive on the field, transfer those skills to getting into the right program.

Find a champion

Whether it be a counselor, a family member or even another peer, find someone who can actively support you through the process of applying to college.
