Super Counselor - Mary Beth Gunson

Mary Beth Gunson, a counselor at Interlake High School in Bellevue, is described by her student, Grant Guenter, as “incredibly energetic and thoughtful.” Also noted as a “meticulous record keeper” and having “very high expectations,” Ms. Gunson is recognized by students and parents alike.

“She does a fantastic job,” boasts Guenter. Whether it’s assisting freshman as they adjust to new high school schedules, or “gently reminding” seniors of application deadlines, Ms. Gunson is a counselor who is organized, well-connected and greatly loved. “She is a constant presence in the lives and well-being of students.”

And perhaps most importantly, Ms. Gunson is someone her students know they can count on. She is someone they know they can go to when they are having a rough day. She greets students with a smile in the hall and a helping hand in the office, and students know she cares.

Ms. Gunson, thank you for your hard work, your dedication and all that you do to invest in the students you work with each and every day. Here’s to you for being a Super Counselor!
