Meet Super Counselor Amanda Raschke

Bloomingdale Senior High School (Valrico, Florida) student Samuel Miller says that is confident in his college decision thanks to his “caring, friendly counselor,” Mrs. Amanda Raschke. Although she works with over 500 students, Miller says that Raschke works hard, but always appears to be having fun.

“It is simply impossible to attend any event put on by my school and not see Mrs. Raschke helping out in the most effective way,” he says. Miller notes that, thanks to her help, many important opportunities and events take place at his school that may otherwise not exist. But it’s not just event planning and college visit coordination that Mrs. Raschke does. She is there for her students – all 500+ of them.

For Miller, Raschke had a direct impact on his college decision – something that was quite overwhelming for him before working with her. He is extremely appreciative of her help and recalls, “…the day that I stepped into her office, everything was immediately cleared up [for me].” Miller credits his academic success and ability to choose his next steps in life to the direction he received from Mrs. Raschke. It is evident that she is truly making a difference in the lives of her students.
