Texas A&M University-Kingsville offers the complete college experience, with respected academics, on-campus housing and dining, numerous student organizations and a winning athletic program.

Established in 1925 as a teacher's college, the University went on to establish pioneering programs in natural gas engineering and bilingual education. The University is the only doctoral research university south of Austin, as designated by the Carnegie Foundation which sets the national standard for classification of all universities in the U.S.

Academic Life

Texas A&M-Kingsville offers more than one hundred undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Currently, the University is home to nationally-ranked programs in environmental engineering and agriculture, expanding kinesiology and music departments, and respected degrees in social work and animal and wildlife sciences. Our award-winning faculty teach in the classroom, out in the field and within the lab, providing a rich and practical education.

Campus Life

Texas A&M-Kingsville recently opened a new suite-style residence hall and student recreation center, with more housing and dining options coming in the next year. These expansions equal a thriving campus that offers its students an all-inclusive university environment, with comfortable residences and a variety of food and recreational activities within walking distance of the classroom.

Facilities and Resources

The campus features lecture halls and research facilities with the latest technology, such as the newly renovated Peacock Auditorium and the Tio and Janell Kleberg Wildlife Research Park. There's also Jones Auditorium, a 1,000 seat performance hall, and the brand new 36,000 square foot Student Recreation Center featuring an elevated jogging track along with cardio and weight lifting space.

For more information on participating in our athletic programs, please contact our athletic department at 361-593-2411. We offer men's football, basketball, baseball, cross country and track and women's volleyball, basketball, softball, cross country and track and golf.

The average cost of attending Texas A&M-Kingsville for a Texas resident living on campus is $18,737; average cost of a Texas resident living at home with parents is $14,176; average cost of a Texas resident living off-campus is $19,312; average cost of a non-resident living on campus is $28,037. The average amount of grants and scholarships for a student in a school year is $4,994. The student loan average amount is $6,331.


To apply for admission, complete the Apply Texas application and submit official transcripts from your high school (for freshmen and transfers with less than 12 hours) and transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.  Our priority admission deadline for freshmen is December 15 and our scholarship deadline is February 15.  Visit our website for more information on our admission requirements.

You can meet with faculty in your area of academic interest, visit with staff about admission, financial aid and housing options as well as experience what our campus has to offer you.
