Academic Life

Students chose from 43 undergraduate and 26 graduate degree programs including the first discipline-specific Master of Science Radiologic Science degree of its kind in the United States. More than 95 percent of classes are taught by professors, not graduate assistants, in classes which average fewer than 30 students each. With its low student-to-faculty ration of 17:1, students receive the kind of mentoring from professors and challenge from peers to lead to confidence in their skills. Study abroad opportunities include a summer program in London, a full semester program in Pontlevoy, France and more.

Campus Life

MSU’s list of 100 student organizations has something for everyone – from a spirit group named the Maniacs to rugby to national Greek organizations to radiology club. When students are not attending an athletic event, they are enjoying sponsored entertainment like nationally known speakers, comedians, hypnotists, and musicians. In December the campus hosts more than 200,000 visitors for the spectacular Fantasy of Lights holiday display, while the Wichita Falls Museum of Art at MSU attracts visitors year-round.

Facilities and Resources

MSU’s campus is comprised of 255 acres and 70 buildings that offer a variety of academic programs. The 51,000-square-foot Bruce and Graciela Redwine Student Wellness Center was completed in 2009, and is complete with the best equipment available on the market. Other new construction on campus includes an instrumental music hall in 2010 and the Dillard College of Business Administration completed in 2006. More construction is under way with the expansion of the McCoy School of Engineering and the field laboratory station at MSU’s Dalquest Desert Research station located in the Trans-Pecos.

Athletics / Sports

MSU is an NCAA Division II member and competes in the Lone Star Conference. Men’s sports include football, soccer, basketball, golf and tennis, and women’s sports are soccer, golf, volleyball, basketball, tennis, softball and cross country/track. In addition, MSU teams have won national championships in the club sports of cycling and weightlifting.
