D'Youville College offers 33 unique baccalaureate, eight master's-level and five post-baccalaureate degrees, as well as advanced certificate programs in health-related professions. Five-year programs leading to both a bachelor's and master's degrees are available in occupational therapy, international business, physical therapy, accounting/international business , nursing and dietetics, and an RN BS/MS program. There is also a doctorate in chiropractic program as well as programs leading to doctorate degrees in health education and policy and educational leadership.. All professional programs have a strong liberal arts core. All programs have direct entry into the program.
A variety of recreational activities are available as well as a fitness center, swimming pool and game room. Students can also join academic, cultural, and recreational clubs, serve on campus wide committees, contribute to student publications, perform in the arts, attend special events, and take advantage of many volunteer opportunities. As a new student, you will be invited to attend an orientation program for freshmen, families, transfers, certificate or graduate students. Here you'll learn about program requirements, course selection with an academic advisor, registration, and information seminars. The D'Youville Freshman Experience (DFX) is designed to help make your first year exciting, fun and challenging. At orientation, you'll be assigned a college mentor and registered for the FOCUS Freshmen Seminar. There are also activities and leadership opportunities (D'Youville Leads) as well as a Peer Mentor Program coordinated through the Leadership Development Institute.
Facilities and Resources
The college has recently invested 40 million dollars for new facilities, including student apartments. Like other urban campuses, D'Youville is an integral part of the social and cultural fabric of the surrounding city. The college is within walking distance of a world-class music hall, a manuscript and antiquities museum, a public library, historic churches, ethnic shops and restaurants, charming residential neighborhoods, leafy parks, and the panoramic Buffalo waterfront. The campus comprises a six-block area near the center of city. The college is located a short distance from the Canadian border making trips to Toronto and Niagara Falls convenient. New York City is six hours away and Cleveland, Pittsburg, Rochester and Syracuse are within easy reach.
Athletics / Sports
D'Youville College athletics are more popular than ever as evidenced by the growing varsity and intramural programs. Our newly expanded gymnasium is a shining, modern facility with new locker rooms, much larger seating capacity, a permanent batting cage and one of the top playing surfaces in Western New York. The new gym is home to the Spartan volleyball and basketball teams who always bring additional excitement to campus. D'Youville College is a NCAA Division III provisional member competing in theAlleghany Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) and the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference . Thanks to its strong emphasis on academic success, the Athletic Department reports that 32 Spartan athletes were on the Dean's List last fall and 39 were named to the NEAC All-Academic Team.
Financial Aid / Tuition
D’Youville College has a new instant scholarship program where scholars may be awarded up to $66,000. Fully ninety percent of D'Youville students receive financial aid. This includes nearly $2,000,000 in grants and scholarships. Grants include: Federal Pell Grants and Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants, New York State Tuition Assistance Program, and Aid for Part-Time Study. Federal Work-Study programs, federally insured loans, and flexible payment plans are also available. All applicants are reviewed for academic scholarships at the time of acceptance. Notifications of awards are made in the early spring. Awards include: Presidential Honors Scholarships, Academic Distinction Scholarships, D'Youville Achievement Scholarships and Transfer Achievement Scholarships. All continuing students may apply for thousands of dollars from endowed and restricted scholarships.
Admission to D'Youville College is moderately competitive. Our selection process identifies those qualified men and women who will benefit most from the programs the college offers. In making admissions decisions, we consider grades, class rank, standardized test scores, recommendations, and any additional information you can provide. To apply to D'Youville, you'll need to submit a completed application along with a $25.00 processing fee, official high school transcripts or, if you're a transfer student, official transcripts from colleges previously attended.
