For me, transferring was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I knew from the beginning that the first school I attended wasn’t for me.
I started looking at transfer schools in my late first semester. I knew exactly what I was looking for this time; I wanted a small, engaging college with busy student life. I found exactly what I was looking for and more at Daemen College (
www.daemen.edu).
I decided to live on campus, because I really wanted that first-year exciting experience. I’m really glad I did. Living in the dorms was the most fun I’ve ever had. My biggest fear of starting at a new school was that I’d be treated like a freshman all over again, and I was afraid it would be hard to get involved. My experience was the exact opposite. I am now extremely involved with student life on campus. I am a member of the Student Alumni Ambassadors, I’m an Orientation Leader, I’m rebuilding the Art Education Club and I work in Admissions.
Since transferring I’ve had an amazing and successful college experience. I enjoy my classes, and I love the career path I’ve chosen. Everyone told me that transferring would be really hard; if I hadn’t transferred I don’t know where I’d be today. It was an easy transition and made the world of a difference in my education.
