As you know, Mr. President, there are many issues you and our country have to deal with.
Many of the issues are important, but I’m writing about gay marriage for many reasons.
The reason I’m writing about gay marriage is because it is a big and controversial topic.
My high school, Arrowhead High School, just had a “Come Out of the closet” day. This is bothering me because it is like our school is supporting their gay rights. I know gays do have the same rights as everybody, but our school still promotes them in a way many students and citizens don’t agree with. Do you think that is right? It’s wrong in so many ways. It’s wrong because marriage is supposed to be between a man and women.
In America, we trust in God, and in the Bible it says in, According to bible.org, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God" (NIV).
In the states, there is a separation between the state and the church. The reason the relationship is distant is because the state can’t tell you what to believe in, but the church can. This is a controversial topic between the state and church. The reason it is controversial because in the bible it says you should stick to marriage between a man and women, but the state says you can have a gay partner although not all the states allow gay marriage. According to States that allow gay marriage, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Washington D.C., Iowa, and Washington.
In this verse, it says that if do you are gay or homosexual; you will not inherit the kingdom of God. Saying this, why would America allow this absurd gesture when it is against the main religion of the world?
In the bible, it talks about casting death on those who don’t obey the way God meant marriage and relationships to be. According to anthro.palomar.edu, In Leviticus 20:13 it says, “If a man also lies with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.”
In our world, marriage is supposed to be between a man and women, and male on male or female on female, is inappropriate. The reason it is not appropriate is because it is morally incorrect.
According to Unbound Biola.edu, gay marriage is against America. They say, “America is made for a man and women to live and prosper together, but when a man is with a man and a woman with a woman, it is against the great country we live in.”
In my opinion, marriage should be between a male and female. If marriage is between homosexuals, then we are going against America, and mainly going against the Catholic religion and what God believes. Even though in America there is a distance relationship between the church and state. The reason is because the state can’t tell us what to believe in, but the church wants us to believe in God. People have choices to make, and the right choice is between a man and women, not between two homosexuals.
