I held my breath as the heart inside me was pumping vigorously as if in a factory line, I stood clinging the sharp rough bricks that created the wall in the alleyway. I felt content for a moment and gasped for air and slowly, gradually slided my head out from around the bricks to take a look. I heard shrieks of a woman and saw only a dense blanket of thick grey fog. I heard a loud roar, perhaps reptilian because it hissed at a high tune in which stung my ears like needles. I could not stand the horrible sound, so I sprinted the opposite way down the alley, dodging dumpsters and cardboard boxes that obstructed the way. I neared the end of the alley only to find a chain link fence with barbed wire coiled menacingly on the top. I had thought I could climb the fence and maneuver the razor like wires, so I jumped onto the fence and grasped the chain link slowly inclining to the top. The fence was fifteen feet high and I may have been five feet off the ground when suddenly a gruesome creature climbed out of the alley on the opposing side of the fence. Shocked by its surprising appearance I had released my tightly woven fingers from the fencing and descended down toward the concrete. My vision was blurred by mud and water everywhere, a powerful monsoon had just struck overhead, when I regained vision I looked up to see this demonic looking creature clawing at the fence with its insufficient talons. It’s talons were barely two inches long and very dull. I held in a laugh as this beast's eyes lowered in confusion about my apparent happiness. I knew that this thing could slay me within seconds yet still found its incapability to destroy a simple fence amusing. I had gotten up and noticed the creature looking to the bricks, this now worried me. It jumped onto the wall and managed to hook onto the shoddy bricks. I had started to run seeing how truly enraged the beast was after I mocked the thing for its talons. I swiftly coordinated my feet out of the alley and back into the dense fog, the smell of rotting meat enveloped me as I continued into the cloud of grey, I felt a tingling sensation in my foot and noticed that my jeans were stained with blood, as I rolled the jeans upward I revealed that my ankle was badly injured by my descent. Now the shock was gone and my pain kicked in, I limped like a rag doll until the dark fog deteriorated. I stopped in pure fear as I took in my surroundings. I was in the middle of Times Square, bodies had been mutilated and piled up as if they were organized, and military vehicles had a charcoal black coloration as if struck with thousands of missiles. Other than the military's trucks and tanks there were no other vehicles around. Small fires and embers were dispersed and were surrounding me. I turned my attention upwards to see the "Jumbo-Tron". A newscast was being shown but the speakers were busted, the woman on the screen was in a state of panic, and just as fast as a bolt of lightning the broadcasting room exploded and the camera was down. The screen was frozen on the last image of the broadcast which were large red printed words that read " NO ONE IS SAFE " and in the corner I read the date " December, twentieth, two thousand and twelve". I then heard a scream and turned around, the creature was on its hind legs and jumped towards me, our eyes met for five seconds, I noticed it had yellow eyes stained with red and green Splotches. I could feel the warmth of a burning fire pierce my skull from the very look of the creature. All of the sudden the world went black.[/b]
