BLINDED
You said you had a problem.
A serious one at that.
You said you were embarrassed by it and that you wished you never even got it,
but you wouldn’t be YOU without it.
You thought you’d never fall in love with someone
who understood. Yet, you had a girlfriend who loved you for you.
You were too blind to notice though. Dad always said “it takes a lot of game for a guy like you to get a girlfriend.” He was never mocking your pain. But, you’d be to blind to know that right?
Remember that time mom and dad sent you away?
All the way to Brighton, some fancy camp in England.
There were thousands of kids just like you, but you were still uncomfortable.
Maybe you were the ONLY American their, but they still liked you for YOU.
You wouldn’t know though, you were too blind to know.
That time we went to the mall and you blurted out some really mean, but funny things.
Everyone laughed. It was funny.
Even the guy you said it to laughed, but you were blinded by the horror of you even saying the words.
I get it you’re not like everybody else.
But, there’s no one or anything to be afraid of.
People will understand.
Trust me.
Now, open your eyes.
