My eyes opened gradually giving me an image of the world around. Mayday! Mayday! Blinding light obscured my vision. The pain pricked, precise and intense. The heat beat down on me. The sheets around me suffocating and altogether too hot. It was torture; I couldn’t take it anymore. I rolled onto my side finding comfort in a new patch of sheets and immediately felt the relief of the smooth material that embraced me. Sinking into the soft bed, the light that seemed so harsh but moments ago, giving a soft ambiance to the room. My eye lids drooped in bliss, allowing my other senses a chance to experience this lazy morning for themselves. Fabric softener. The cool comforter snuggled around me. Then it came to me. A realization rivaling that of Einstein or Archimedes, for nothing could ever be as important. I began to drift off once again the idea lulling me back to sleep. A small sigh escaped my lips as I gave in. The last thought that went through my mind was a comforting one. Spring Break.
