Wouldn’t it be cool to be a bird,

to fly across the sky?

To spread your wings, close your eyes

and soar remarkably high?

 

To swish and swoosh, catch the current,

to speed through box-shaped kites?

To disappear behind a cloud,

to be out of sight?

 

Wouldn’t it be cool to be a bird,

to snitch up big fat worms?

To build a home of grass and hay,

to be worry-free of germs?

 

To fly to your nest and feed your young,

to teach them how to fly?

To send them out of the nest one day,

and say your last goodbye?

 

It would be cool to be a bird!

To live your life up high,

to feel free with every flap of the wing,

and never let a day pass you by
