My Worst Fear

The sun has gone down as my brother and I get ready for bed. All seems normal and very well. Each of us kiss one parent, then the other and head off to our own rooms to go to sleep. After a couple of hours, i lie sleepless in my bed. I begin to hear muffled sounds of crying in the distance and whispering voices trying not to yell out. I realize that my parents are in an arguement. Thinking that it was just a small misunderstanding, i ignore it and fall right to sleep.
The next morning my family went through our usual routine. Got up, got dressed, ate breakfast, then headed off to school and work as if nothing had gone wrong. The ony difference was that my parents still had yet said one word to one another the whole entire morning. Throughout the day I began to feel scared, lied to, and fearful that my family was beginning to fall apart knowing there was nothing that I could do myself to prevent it. The arguements continued as numerous nights rolled in and out.
"Could my parents really be getting a divorce?!" I thought to myself. I thought that divorces were for movie stars that did not know how to maintain a relationship or for Bobby and Susy's parents whom lived down the street. But never would the thought of my parents splitting up come into my mind. Days went by as i became sick to my stmoch and worried that one parent would be gone when I returned home from school each day.
A few months went by and my parents seemed to be pulling back together. They went to see counselors and talk to different priest to help them get throught their problems. Finally a special priests that they had met with, offered them every bit of information he had. After my parents understanding the true meaning of their faith and learning that God and family came first, they worked to stay together. I know longer had to worry.
My parents truely put our family in a tragic situation but it has only helped me in nothing but positive ways throughout my life. We as people learn the best through the worst of ways at times.
