Parents: A Blessing for Every Child

Imagine a child who is about five years old. He is an orphan and his mother just passed away in a car accident. He used to come home from school and run towards his mother screaming “Mama” and fall into her soothing hands. Today he goes to his cousin’s house after school with no one to scream and run towards to and no one to get a hug from. He feels sad, because he has lost his parents. Aren’t parents a blessing?
Parents are a real blessing for everyone. Just imagine life without parents. There would be no one to take care of you with the love that comes from deep within the heart. There wouldn’t be that extra person who would always look out for you. When we were all little and had no strength, our feebleness couldn’t even carry us a few steps on our own, and our parents used to take our hand into theirs and walk us a few steps. When we were little and our teeth hadn’t even grown, our parents used to soften the food that required teeth to eat in their mouth and put it in our mouths so we could enjoy the different flavors of the world. When we were little and had relieved ourselves in our diapers, our parents were the ones who would take us in the bathroom and wash us clean. There was one time when we couldn’t even eat by ourselves nor drink by ourselves nor walk or go any place by ourselves, and our parents were there to help us out and carry us through life until we came to do those things ourselves
Aren’t parents a real blessing? Just think about it. Even after we passed the age of infancy, our parents were still there for us. They provided for our education, our clothes, and for our basic necessities. When we were stuck on a math problem, they were the ones who used to encourage us and help us in solving the problem. They were the ones that used to hug us everyday when we came home after school. They were the ones who cared about us and asked about our day at school and listen attentively for hours as we described our day in our own languages. They were the ones who used to encourage us for every good thing and warn us about every bad thing. They didn’t just leave us to do things on our own after infancy, but they were there to help us and teach us at every step along the path of life. Even after we passed our age of growing and were on our way to colleges and towards the bigger steps of life, our parents were still there to guide us along and help us make important decisions.
So all of you out there who still have any parents or any parent that is still alive, get up and go give them a hug that they most dearly deserve and obey them in their commands and fulfill their wishes. Take care of them, and never leave them alone, for they always took care of you and never left you alone. You can try to pay them back for all they did to you, but let me tell you, you can never repay them fully.
