True Love: From a Grandpa to a Grandson[/b]
Grandson:
Is true love just a feeling or a state of mind?
Is it strong as a rock yet gone with the wind?
Is it like the wild flowers?
As visible as the snow?
Or does it hide in dark corners until at the right time it shows?
When do I know that she's the right one?
How can I tell that I'm not looking into the sun?
That because of it's brightness I can't see the moon
Who's soft spoken rays, like the tides, are ever true?
Grandpa:
Young man you're quite right except for one thing
Love is not a feeling it's the feelings it brings
Of eternal commitment till death do ye part
No mortal could ever sep'rate two true love bound hearts;
Love will guide you through wildflowers;
The bright sun's scorching rays
And bring you safely ashore to the soft moonlit bays
One more thing you should know;
The most important of all
Though the wind will be rough
And the waves ever so tall
True love never bails
Though it's put to the test
This is what singles it out from the rest
Of the feelings inside that would play you false
If you let them drown out your heart and true love's dim pulse
So you see do not worry true love never fails
It will guide you to her though other feelings prevail
Here is an example I believe it will serve
For a demonstration of this unspeakable love
His name was Jesus
He was God's only son
Brought down to earth to die for everyone
Because we are all sinner's, but though we've played God false
Jesus our true love died for us on the cross
He lives again in heaven so never you fear
Those of us who repent will be with him in cheer
One day when called home, we shall never regret
For you see He's our true love we should never forget
So as you seek in the future for true love's perfect find
Don't forget to keep this one thing in mind
There is no greater love in the world; let us say
Than that of the Lamb who laid down His life that day
One day your true love on this earth you'll find
Just follow your heart and keep that one thing in mind
