You all may look at me weird and laugh saying that isn't abuse, but it is. I know this for a fact. Parents or gaurdians all over do this. They tell there child they will never make anything of themself, they are self centered, they won't make it in the real world, they are stupid, ect. This can hurt the child more than hitting ever could. Being told that makes them start to think they are right. I mean hearing that from a person who is supposed to love and care about you. Someone you are supposed to look up to. You think they have your best intrest at heart and you really can't do anything. Soon your grades start to slip and your friends start to worry about you because your attidude has changed. You don't care about anything anymore, you just go through the motions.
Kids that go through this think that their parent or garudian is right and they shouldn't do anything. That they aren't good for anything. A lot of times this goes to cutting and suicide. And like I said, that can be worse than physical abuse could ever be. People do this to make themselves feel superior. The kids are scared to tell anyone.
