What's Love,
But a word men know how to say,
But don't know how to spell.
They don't know the meaning,
But can pronounce it very well.
Have you ever been loved?
I mean truly loved?
And not by a mother or father or family member.
But by that someone you cross in the street,
They say hello,
And when you meet
You just look in their eyes--
Those beautiful, hypnotizing eyes.
Eyes that only look at you, see you.
Eyes that make you feel transparent--not invisible, but transparent.
They know who you are; like who you are--not love...yet.
Unless there truly is a love at first sight
For, if so, then those eyes--those beautiful, hypnotizing eyes--
just might...love you!
Imagine! To be loved so much by only saying one word.
I guess then you truly would have them at "hello."
It's just this person crossing you on the street.
You say "hello" and when you meet,
You never would think they would be the first man to say, "I love you."
But is it truly love?
One argument and they're out the door.
Is it truly love?
They don't come back home until the morning at four.
Is it truly love?
You come to discover exactly where they were.
And it's not with an ex-girlfriend,
But walking, crossing the street to say "hello"
To some strange woman whose on the go,
And he looks at her with those eyes--
Those beautiful, hypnotizing eyes.
Eyes that only look at her, see her,
Make her feel transparent--not invisible, but transparent.
He becomes her love now.
Love at first sight, huh?
Is she sure? Are you sure?
It happened to me--at least I was sure it happened.
For those beautiful, hypnotizing eyes knew how to say love so well,
But I learned the hard way they did not know the meaning or even how to spell.
L-O-V? Is that love?
I think it's missing something--
Maybe the "E" in my H_ART
For until I get that "E" back, I can never L-O-V-E again.
