I've always wanted to throw a bottle out to see hoping someone would one day find it. If I was to do so the message would describe who I am as a person. This message would contain little bits and pieces of wisdom that I try and live by each and every day. The message would state, “Through the years I have become a very humble and intelligent young man who is determined to succeed. I have faced more controversy than ever imagined leading up to this senior year. Being the youngest out of four children I've still managed to help support my family and that takes courage. I was raised by my amazing grandmother who is the most influential woman in my life who taught me right from wrong, and inspired me to become a hardworking man now and also in the future. I may not ever be the smartest, strongest, toughest, or even prettiest, but I will always keep the mind state to work at whatever it is I’m doing and to always shoot for the stars. Being mentally tough is a key aspect in being successful, only because there will be so many others that try and hold me back. I’ve realized everyone has dreams, but I’m willing to work just as hard as the next person for mine. Every time I bring reaching my goals up to my grandmother she always asks me if I realize how much work it will take to reach them. I do, but I believe I can be in that select few and I know if given the chance I will make a difference. As selfish as it may sound I don’t want it to be all about me, I want to reach them and make a difference to those around me and help change the way other people see things. I know me teachers can teach me so much and I’m willing to open my mind and heart and listen. I know when It’s all said and done, and I’m walking across that stage, I will not only leave high school with more knowledge than ever but I will also leave as a man devoted to being the best at whatever path I may take next. I’ve always wanted to be a part of something very unique and very special, and I know that reaching my goals are that special missing piece in this puzzle of my life. I have worked incredibly hard on keeping my grades where they are now, because I knew when it came down to it this story would be one of the most important moments in my life, because I know one day I can look back and tell my story to the youth whose dreams will still be shining bright. I will not expect anything less of myself, because when you’re surrounded by people and things that do nothing but inspire you than there’s nothing else you can really ask for.”
