Moving here after the huge earthquake that hit Haiti taught me many lessons that will I will always remember. I learned that everybody doesn’t get the chance of “a new life”. The chance of getting a new life after a disaster is important because you will finally take life seriously and make sure you make your dreams come true. Knowing that I had this rare opportunity was what motivated me to stay focused in school and accomplish what I am here for. Traveling helped me realize that everybody doesn’t get the same chances in life because I got the chance to go to another country and finish my education when others didn’t have that opportunity.
I desire a career that will give me the opportunity to help people take a step further to understand what they are going through and to guide them to make the right choices for themselves. After the earthquake, I had a lot of trouble understanding why I got the chance to live a new life when there are millions of successful people that died. I realized that I got the chance to travel and come here so I could fulfill my dream to help others. It is my destiny and I believe the reason I am here.
