A culinary art for some chefs is exciting and a way for them to express to society their emotions and share their unique styles. This generally results in a new recipe that may look good or bad, may taste good or bad, but all in all be an extension of the artist whom created it. Now you’ve either understood what I am talking about or I need to explain further.
To help you understand what I mean when I call a chef an artist, I will share with you the many reasons why a chef is an artist. You may not know it, but each chef has his or her own style, and creative ideas for new foods, new flavors, and new ways to prepare a dish or meal. These are all involved in culinary arts. Now you may be thinking “how do chefs make cooking and baking into an art?” They do so by imagining how a meal or dessert may look when they place it front of a customer. Is it pretty, elegant, spontaneous, or is it outrageously colorful like candy? Can it be decorated this way with this, that way with that, or both ways? Will it be appealing to the public? Will it be safe to eat? Will it taste good? These are the many questions a true chef would ask themselves before presenting the new food to the public. “Oh! I get it!” you say. Great now get out there and make something amazing!
