I am a freshman in high school and I have known what I want to be as an adult for some time now. I want to own and run a bakery. I've asked a couple people how I should approach this dream college-wise, but I've gotten mixed answers. I know I want to attend both business and culinary school, but not at the same time.
My dad, who is an entrepreneur himself, told me I should get my business degree first, open and run a bakery for a few years, and
then go back to school for a degree in culinary/pastry arts.
My aunt, who
isn't an entrepreneur but is a very smart and life-experienced cookie, tells me I should go to culinary school first,
then open the bakery
while working for my business degree online.
So my dilemma is that I don't know whose advice to take because they are both very smart and have different levels of experience. Now, why not take the advice of an
expert?
Here's what I'm asking.
I have three steps:
- open bakery
- get business degree and
- get culinary degree.
I need someone to tell me what order I should take them in and why, because my decision has to be logical.
