okay so my grandma has died and it's been a year and i can't tell my brother about it because i am afraid he will end up in the hospital and if he does then i will get depressed but i already am depressed. I cried at school and i can't stand it when i cry in front of him because i am keeping this huge secret from him and that hurts me ALOT. He always asks me "whats wrong?" "i am your brother you can tell me anything" So then as soon as he said that i just broke down in tears in the hallway. I went to my mom about this situation and she told me to just forget about it because u are protecting your brother. so we both cried

WHAT SHOULD I DO I NEED ADVICE PLEASE COMMENT!! :(

This is a tough one to answer Brianna. Unsure But he is going to figure out someday. How old is he? Does he have a medical issue that if you told him, he would be put in the hospital? Sorry if this is asking too many personal questions. But answer them yourself. But here is what I would do. Have him sit down somewhere comfortable, like a couch or a bed. Somewhere. Don't tell him immediately. Put a intro like "You remember how grandma did this?" "You remember when she did that?" Something along those lines. Talk about the happy times you had with her. I would break the news softly, but to the point. Not like "Grandma's dead" something maybe like, "Well, grandma is in a happier place." When he starts crying. Open your arms, embrace and cry with him. You may be like that for 5 minutes or an hour. Don't keep track. Just let your emotions pour out on each other's shoulder. After you've done crying, explain that she would want him to be happy, not because she passed, but because she lived. If you put off telling him, one day it will turn on you. Tell him. The best way to protect him is to tell him. I know it will be hard, but I think it has to be done.
