Today, for the first time in a long time, I looked. I really opened my eyes at school today. I saw the way our generation has become a vile and almost sickening group of people. We judge people by clothes and looks, not even getting to know the people inside first. Popularity goes to those with money, while those less fortunate are treated like dogs. A sixteen-year-old is hitting someone considered a "loser" in the back of the head, while the "loser" is getting one step closer to tears. No one says excuse me anymore. It's either "move" or else they just push you out of the way. Words slice through people easier than a knife. All the "young adults" (since we're supposed to be high school adults, but we insist on acting like children) say hurtful remarks to someone they don't think highly of and that girl or boy is about to go over the edge. And people wonder why kids do suicide or end up shooting people. It's the generations' fault. I can't believe how immature we are. No one can be themselves without being made fun of or called a freak. I know I'm not perfect either, but what happened to manners or just being civil? What's happened to humanity itself?
