Hey everyone, I'm a Senior n college and already accepted to the school of my choice, but it is really stressing me out thinking about going to college in another town.  I was wondering if their was any advise anyone can give me.

I completely understand! It was helpful for me to realize that everyone was going through the exact same feelings as I was! I went to college 18 hours from home. It was hard to do, but I'm so glad I did! I got to learn about a different area of the country and really challenged myself by being on my own!

The college I picked is about a three day drive from my hometown. I don’t know anyone out there, and will be far enough from my family that they won’t be able to get to me. This is both a blessing and a curse. It is independence in the most major way, and it is a bit risky. Do I worry sometimes? Sure. I am a very shy, quiet kind of girl who doesn’t usually make friends right off the bat. I’m leaving my boyfriend, my best friend, and everyone else I know back home. I’ve lived in NC my entire life, so this is a big change for me. I think you should just keep in mind that a lot of people at your college will be far from home, and they will probably be just as nervous and scared as you. Don’t let fear keep you away from the college of your dreams- we all get nerves sometimes, and you can’t possibly run away from every major change in life. Things are likely to be rocky at first, but they will even out all in good time. Patience is key!
