you should volunteer. it does help to narrow down your major and career choice. it helps you figure out hat you enjoy. :)

Get lots of summer jobs, and I would agree that you should volunteer doing what you love. Also, speak with an advisor and try new things! A good possibility for you is contacting a temp agency and submitting your resume there. You may just be surprised at all the opportunities available. The jobs can give you a good idea of what it's like, with no commitment, and sometimes temp work turns into opportunities for permanent work.

I interned for a couple quarters during the first two years of my high school. I learned that Veterinarian madicine as a career is not for me, I learned to make a resume and keep it updated as much as possible, the great recommendations I have just in case I need them to include them with my resume or college application, I also learned, most importantly, MANY people skills that will definetly help me in my future.

Internships are awesome. I did one at a GIS Lab and found out that I DIDN'T want to work for the Government. =) But, like Matty said, it looks great on a resume. I also learned people skills and it helped in my computer design studies too. Internships help in alot of different ways.

What did you do for your internship? Sounds impressive, at least!
