When should I start looking at colleges? What if I don't know what I want to major in yet?

It's cool. I'm a sophmore and i use it all the time. Don't worry, what you want to major in will come to you in time. I hope. I'm not sure yet either. Pre-Md or Communicaitons. I want to save lives but i also want to have my own talk show. What i'm thinking is becomeing a pediatrician and haveing a medical talkshow. LOl. sorry. this was bout you not me....

Anyway. Got to the website. it helps

start looking early to see what you need to do to get in to each, also look at the majors they offer, cost, size, location, and about the middle of your junior year make a list of schools that interest you, and then contact them all, and get information from each, and by the end of the summer, have the list narrowed down to the top 5 or so, and then start working on applications, and if they require essays, work on them. don't procratinate. and I recommend have the applications sent in by the beginning of winter break, your senior year, then work on financial aid forms.

It's never too early to start looking at colleges. you want your senior year to be fun, not an overwhelming experience. therefore, it's good to start narrowing your choices as you go through high school instead of waiting on the last minute.

still apply for schools even if you dont know what you want to do.. try going to a bigger school. you can always change your major. and the bigger schools dont make you find your major until your sophomore year or even your Junior year. so get your GEN EDS done. then worry about your major[:o]

ok, i've had the same problem when picking a major. i sat down with one of my teachers and we brainstormed on my favorite activities. i said i am in drama club and i like to talk to ppl and get to kno them better. i took those ideas and found careers that would match that. i researched what i could be and i had to choose between an actress or a phsycologist (i love ppl!!!) soo i decided to be a phsycologist because i picked out the pros and cons between acting a phsycology.
i suggest u put all of your ideas together like i did. i started in sophmore year, but u can start in junior year. u dont want to spend ur whole senior year rushing yourself. :]
