Director of College Counseling Heather Najmabadi always gives 150 percent to her students at The King’s Academy. “She is always available and treats each student as if they were her own,” says Brittany Alaniz, student at The King’s Academy.
Besides recommending colleges to students and personally taking them for college tours, Heather organizes a Christian College Fair annually. This event attracts high school students from the whole county. Heather keeps the lines of communication open, frequently emailing her students to remind them of upcoming events in their school and the community at large. “She provides us with a monthly newsletter with important dates and guidelines on preparing for college interviews,” says Brittany. “She makes sure her students receive the best possible opportunities.”
In addition, Heather holds meetings with students to discuss searching for the right college and tips for completing the application process. This year, Brittany will visit two colleges with her counselor. “She has personally given me ideas on colleges that would be a good choice for me,” she says.
