Super Counselor: Kerwin Williams, counselor at Bethel Christian Learning Center Academy in New York.

Nominators: Gregory Vassell and Joseph Hynson

Kerwin Williams organizes educational and recreational trips for his advisees.

As an adviser to seniors, Williams not only advises his students on college planning and academic issues, but also stays in contact with students’ parents in order to help them with any of their questions on college planning or their child’s grades. When parents are unable to attend college tours, Williams has been there to take their place.

Though student nominators Gregory Vassell and Joseph Hynson have graduated, they still hear from their adviser.

“Mr. Williams has encouraged us as well as prepared us for the college experience. Even though we are now freshmen in college, he still calls to check on us and to follow up,” say the students.

Williams’s passion for his students exceeds giving them advice. He helps his advisees write their scholarship essays.

“Mr. Williams is truly an asset to the student population of Bethel Christian Academy,” his nominators say. “We salute him on a job well done. Our motto for him is, ‘Every 12th grade needs a Mr. Williams.’”
