Daemen College offers students a world of opportunity. A private, four-year college dedicated to providing professional career preparation in the liberal arts tradition. Our distinctive, value-added programs include study abroad as early as the sophomore year, a coordinated co-op and internship program, undergraduate research opportunities with faculty, service learning and a comprehensive honors program. Daemen has approximately 2,000 undergraduate students and 1,000 graduate students. Academic Life
Daemen has a 15:1 student/faculty ratio. Small classes allow students to work with professors on a one- on- one basis. You’ll learn from the best at Daemen. Our faculty members come from institutions such as Harvard, Oxford, Berkley, University at Buffalo and the Yale University of Medicine. More than 50 degree programs include Accounting, Animation, Art, Arts Administration, Athletic Training, Biology, Biochemistry, Business Administration, Education, English, French, Graphic Design, Health Care Studies, History, History & Government, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Nursing, Paralegal, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Political Science, Psychology, Religious Studies, Social Work and Spanish. Career Services, in collaboration with the faculty, provide students with the resources, skills, experiential opportunities and support to prepare them to achieve their career goals.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities include various student associations, athletics, fraternities, sororities, honors organizations, special interest groups and publications. Parties, dances, plays, movies, concerts, lectures, recitals and art exhibits are scheduled on campus throughout the year. Modern apartment-style residence halls are available to upperclassmen; a suite-style resident hall is utilized for freshmen housing.
Facilities and Resources
Located in Amherst, NY -- the College is just a 15-minute drive from metro Buffalo or Niagara Falls. There is convenient parking on the 39-acre campus and easily accessible public transportation. Other amenities: State-of-the-art computer laboratories, free Internet access, etc.
Athletics / Sports
The Wildcats are a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Daemen’s athletic programs have won nine American Mideast Conference North titles in the past nine years. Many Daemen athletes have excelled in the classroom as All-American Scholar-Athletes. Intercollegiate athletics include: Basketball (Men & Women), Cross Country (Men & Women), Men’s Golf, Soccer (Men & Women), Track and Field (Men & Women) and Women’s Volleyball.
Financial Aid / Tuition
At Daemen College a private school is within your reach! The cost of your daemen education can compare to the cost of a public university. Over 92% of our full–time undergraduate students receive some type of financial assistance. We create individualized financial aid packages for you. Our generous scholarships make attending Daemen very affordable. We offer merit scholarships based on a student’s academic and leadership achievement. Just by applying and being accepted to Daemen, a student may qualify for one of the following scholarships.
President’s Scholarship: up to $10,500
Dean’s Scholarship: up to $7,500
Alumni Grant: up to $6,000
Trustee Scholarship: (By nomination.) (2) Full-tuition, (4) $15,000 awards and (6) $11,000-12,000 awards.
Daemen’s scholarships and grants are renewable for the duration of your program based on your GPA.
Admission
Daemen offers a rolling admissions policy. The average student enrolled has a 90 GPA and 1050 SAT. We also have a “test optional” policy which provides you with a choice regarding the submission of standardized test scores. This policy was designed for students who have demonstrated academic excellence in the classroom and who do not believe their standardized test scores accurately reflect their abilities.
